SSBF Contest from HopChart

The St. Paul Summer Beer Festival, which debuted in 2009, will be held Sunday, June 20th and if you want to go, FOR FREE, then check out the contest HopChart is running.

Do you want to go to the St. Paul Summer Beer Festival? If you answered yes to that question then you should definitely check out the contest HopChart is putting on. HopChart was lucky enough to receive not 1 set, not even 2 sets, but 4 sets of tickets to this awesome beer festival!

Now let it be known that HopChart loves its users, but we really want to share this love with people who have never heard of us. So unlike our Winterfest Contest which awarded a set of tickets to the top point getter this contest is a member drive. We want to know how many people we can sign up from March 1st until March 20th.

1st and 10
The first user who gets 10 new members to join will win a set of tickets.(*)

Members Only
The top 2 users who get the most new members to join will each win a set of tickets.(* & **)

You’re Quite Inviting
We know it’s hard to get people to sign up for things they don’t understand, so the top 3 people who send invites will be entered into a drawing to win a set of tickets.(* & ***)

Additional details, including how you go about inviting people to join HopChart and of course all the rules, can be found on the site.

Flat Earth Brewery Tours

The tours over at Flat Earth are getting quite popular these days and with that you’ll now need a reservation if you’d like to take part in a tour. They’re working on online tour sign up, but in the meantime, just give ’em a call at 651-698-1945 to reserve a spot. Don’t forget to bring your ID and remember they will have growlers for sale afterward.

UPDATE – As of 3/11, both tours for March are full.

Flat Earth March Update

It’s beginning to feel like Spring!

Growler sales are every Tuesday & Thursday from 330 – 630 and Saturdays noon – 3 and after tours.

Cellars Beer Tasting

Jason from The Cellars in Eagan just sent word out that he has scheduled another beer tasting, for the last Saturday of March. They’ll have over 15 different brews for the tasting, including Snake River Zonker Stout, Boulder Flashback, Aecht UrBock Rauchbier and Summit Unchained # 3 Rye Ale.

And if you’re a Scotch drinker, mark your calendar for this Saturday, March 6th 2:00 – 4:00 pm when they’ll have 10 different scotches to sample, incuding ones where the bottle costs more than even a good night out drinking. Well…maybe that’s not quite true, there was that one night, but they will have some higher end bottles open to be sure.

More Czar Jack on the Way

Just a note to thank all of you for the amazing support last week during Big and Barrel Week. We dug deep in the cellar and you seemed to appreciate it, a true testiment to the beer consumers of Minnesota. Enough of that…..I may start to cry.

Some good news for you on the CZAR JACK front. Saturday we filled a ton of growlers thinking we had ample supply for the day, well you suprised us! You bought all those growlers by 1:30 in the afternoon and we were out……I apologize for that.

We are currently filling more growlers and I would expect they will be available to you for a few more days this week. If you want some, come and get it these last few kegs is all we have. For those of you that are fans- we already have the next batch well underway and hope to have another harvest of the Czar during anniversary week in October. We will have to see how it ages.

Again thanks for your overwhelming support of Minnesota made beer!
