Ryan Anderson (that's me!) is the editor & founder of MNBeer. Much has changed since the fall of 2005 and I'm proud to have been a part of it all. Sometime I'll tell you about my grand theory that links craft brewing to punk rock. Just ask.

Reminder: BBS Brown Bag Series #2 is Saturday

…and you can still get tickets for their event at Butcher & Boar on Saturday. The theme for Series #2 is “Summer Session: Backyard BBQ Beers” and will feature 28 taps paired with summer flavors. The goal is to expose participants to beer pairing techniques, with a nod to backyard bbqing.

The event will guide guests through four categories of blind samples paired with a different small plate, designed to accentuate both the beer and the food. Sounds like a blast!

This event will sell out. Get your tickets now at www.betterbeersociety.com

Grumpy’s Downtown/Surly Spring Cleaning Bonanza Tuesday

Let’s forget for a moment that it’s technically summer right now. It doesn’t matter. Grumpy’s is throwing a party with 7 kegs of Surly beer on Tuesday. Said beers include Darkness, Smoke, Abrasive, Schadenfreude, Hell, Bitter Brewer and Mild. Starting at 5pm, they’ll be offering up $4 beers & $2 brats. They’ll also have games (bags and polish golf) and music by Nato Coles. One keg of each, so when they’re gone they’re gone. It’s outside with the Surly tap truck, so it’s rain or shine.
