Eight seats left! If you’re from the greater Mankato area and heading to Schell’s Bockfest in New Ulm in February, these fine folks have a party bus lined up. $25 gets you a ride, music and a keg of AmberBock lined up for the ride. Personally, I’d spring for some Schell’s Bock, but that’s just me. Either way, this looks like a safe, fun way to roll from ‘Kato to New Ulm for Schell’s Bockfest.

Beer Dabbler Showcase at St. Paul Winter Carnival
The Beer Dabbler Showcase will be a part of the 124th St. Paul Winter Carnival, the nation’s oldest
and largest winter festival. On Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 3:30 to 7:30 pm, Lowertown St. Paul’s Mears Park will be filled with fire pits, lights, and beer. For $20 you’ll get a 7 oz. commemorative tasting glass and you can sample beers til contentment.

TONIGHT: Darkness at Golden Valley Liquor Barrel
Duane from Liquor Barrel in Golden Valley dropped us a line about an event tonight. Yup. The “D” word. Darkness. At 5:30pm, the first forty people to show up at the store will be able to draw a ticket for a one in four chance to buy one of their last 10 bottles of Surly Darkness. All other participants will receive $1.00 off a four pack of Surly of their choice.
Beer & Babies
Thanks to all of the well-wishers. Dawn and I extremely excited that baby MNBeer (..er Laura) is finally here. We came home on Wednesday afternoon and I finally had a chance to kick back with a beer and it was good.

If I get it, I’ll forward it when I have a chance, but I won’t be nearly as close to my email this week… My Powerbook is nice, but I’d much rather have Laura in my lap right now! Cheers!
St. Paul Summer Beer Festival
Juno sent this a couple of days ago… on the verge of Minnesota’s abrupt transition from early fall to winter. He’s either cruel or really funny. In any case…
Save the Date! The 2010 St Paul Summer Beer Fest will occur on June 20th, 2010 from 12pm-5pm. Tickets will go on sale March 21st, 2010 at noon. Last year sold out with over 2000+ attendees. There were over 50 craft breweries from MN and beyond, live music, food, and the fun atmosphere of Midway Stadium of the St. Paul Saints. The 2010 St Paul Summer Beer Fest will be bigger and better (more breweries)!
I had a great time with friends last year at their inaugural event. Word of warning. Bring sunscreen!
