Ryan Anderson (that's me!) is the editor & founder of MNBeer. Much has changed since the fall of 2005 and I'm proud to have been a part of it all. Sometime I'll tell you about my grand theory that links craft brewing to punk rock. Just ask.

Likely the Last Post About Fat Tire on MNBeer

Surdyk’s is getting their supply of Fat Tire tomorrow. And since folks seem to be quite excited about it, we’ll share… Doors open at 8!

• First 100 customers receive a Fat Tire poster

Colorado’s take on Belgian beer has created a cult following. This wheaty charmer moves fast among Fat Tire fans and microbrew lovers alike.

Hrrm. Not so sure about the wheat they’re talking about…

Inter-Club Campout Teaser

You’ve heard about the big inter-club campout in New Ulm, haven’t you? Minnesota homebrew clubs galore and no doubt a good beer or fifty…

Anyway, here’s another little teaser from Dave Berg at Schell’s. You’re chance to taste some great kellerbier and get the all-access tour of the Schell Brewery. Something not to be missed!

Hey Folks-

Just a little teaser for you to think about if you’re on the fence (besides the tour that is, I hope I can find all the keys I need and I hope I don’t get us all lost in the cellars…)  By the way, bring your cameras for the tour…you’ll get to see a couple of the old Cyprus fermentation tanks that were still in use not that long ago.  Where else in the US are you going to see that?  But I digress…

I’m going be serving some Bier von dem Fass at the event.  Let’s call it Kellerbier or Zwickel Bier, your choice…Unfiltered Pils from the Ruh tank served gravity pour via my new super-nifty German Keg thingy do-dad.  I’ll try to figure out how the heck it works before then, or maybe we’ll just roll with the punches.  We’ll have some Pils in a keg with some taps and a hammer…our task will be to figure out how to get it out…

Cheers!

Flat Earth at Taste of Minnesota

Hmm. First local beer in plastic bottles? I dunno…

Flat Earth Brewing Company is pleased to announce that our beers will be available at this years’ Taste of Minnesota on Harriet Island. We bottled a limited amount of plastic 16 oz bottles that will be available at five of the eight beer venues. So when you head out to the Taste this year grab some Flat Earth and enjoy one of summers’ best festivals.

Flat Earth Grand Opening & News

Unfortunately for me, I’ll be out of town for Flat Earth’s grand opening. Do me a favor, head over to St. Paul and enjoy some Angry Planet (great name for an organic beer) in my absense.

Summer is finally here! Is there a better reason to have a beer? We had a great time at the City Pages Beer Festival last Saturday and many thanks to all of you who stayed through the rain to drink some beer and have a good time.
Things are moving along quickly at the brewery. We are trying to keep up with the demand for both the Flat Earth Belgian and Element 115 plus squeezing in a few special brews that should be ready this fall.

Mark your calendar for June 29th starting at 4 p.m. we will be having our Grand Opening! Finally, we will open the brewery for tours, you can pick up some Flat Earth gear and sample our newest creation,” Angry Planet”, an American Pale Ale made with organic ingredients. Keep an eye on our calendar for upcoming events and festivals.

For your reading pleasure check out this week’s City Pages (or on line at www.citypages.com/databank/28/1382/article15476.asp) which features an article about the farmer who picks up spent grain from us and other Twin City breweries. Also, check out the premier issue of Imbibe, the newest publication in all that’s good and fun about beer. Our little brewery has a featured article (also available online at www.twincitiesimbiber.com). Thanks for your continued support, and hopefully we will see you June 29.
