Just when you thought December wouldn’t kill your liver…

Tuesday December 16th we are giving away some Flying Dog logo glassware at Stub and Herb’s. Come enjoy some K9 Winter ale or Barrel-Aged Gonzo Porter and walk out with the pint glass. We will have some other goodies to give away as well. K9 is our featured beer of the month which means you can get a pint and keep the glass for $3.50. Not too bad a deal if you ask me.

Mulled Old Man Winter Warmer at The Blue Nile

Thanks Al… If I can swing it, I may just have to roll over to The Blue Nile on the 20th…

Have a keg of Lake Superior’s Old Man Winter Warmer I’ve been saving for a year. Gonna tap on Saturday the 20th of December, the day before the Winter Solstice…first day of winter, officially…and I’m gonna Wassail it. Gonna mull it, gonna spice it. At least cinnamon, cloves, and ginger, and possibly some fruit.

This will be available on tap as well, but I’m just gonna take some back to the stove, toss on the goodies, and mull it up. These will be available in hot drink glasses, for a reasonable price.

One of my bartenders cussed me out for messing up a great beer, but you will have a choice that day, messd-up or non-messed up. But, I guarantee a good mess!

cheers,
al

P.S. It’ll start right at 4pm, when we open, so hopefully Town Hall pint club members and Sterb’s BA gathering goers an make it after or before.

Another MN 1st: Samichlaus on Tap

I stopped in Busters on 28th last night, only to be greeted by a sign proclaiming it St. Nicholas Day, coincidentally the same day that Brewery Castle Eggenberg brews their famous Samichlaus Bier. What does this mean? Well for the first time in Minnesota, this and the Sami Helles are on tap (the Helles hadn’t been tapped as of 10pm last night).  A 12-ounce pour in a sterling silver rimmed Sami tulip is $8, and the bartender said four kegs of the delicious, 14% lager are in town, but he didn’t know who had the other two.
