Southern Tier Black Solstice

It’s the longest day of the year, and to celebrate Southern Tier Brewing Company is bringing out some very dark brews. The Happy Gnome will be putting the following Southern Tier beers on draft this evening:

choklat- an imperial chocolate stout

oat – an imperial oatmeal stout

mokah – a stout brewed with chocolate and coffee

iniquity – an imperial black ale

The kegs are being tapped at 6:00pm which gives you plenty of time to make it out before the sun sets!

Beer Dabbler Highland Fest

This year marks the third Beer Dabbler event at Highland Fest. And for the record, I’ve only filed in tapping one cask at the event. Will Summit let me tap another? Only time will tell. In short, you’ll have to get Beer Dabbler tickets.

This year the event takes place on July 16th from 1-5pm and will feature more than 65 breweries, 200 beers, live music, food, a jumbotron & beer education. You had me at jumbotron… er beer. Seriously, The Beer Dabbler puts on a good event and I’ve had a good time at every one. Dig it.

Hatter Day at Buster’s on 28th

Available on draft will be Rye Hatter, Farmhouse Hatter & Oak Aged Hatter. There will also be a special cask of the original Mad Hatter for your enjoyment.

Barley’s Angels

This sounds rad… guys, sit this one out, ladies… have at it! The new Twin Cities chapter of Barley’s Angels is having their first meeting at The Muddy Pig on June 30th. The plan is to have a couple pints, chat it up and decide the focus for the next few months.

Barley’s Angels is a growing collection of individual chapters around the world that work with craft-beer focused breweries, brewpubs, restaurants, alehouses and other public beer establishments to advance the female consumer craft beer enthusiast, resulting in increased patronage and revenue from women, while encouraging education and interest in beer among this often under-recognized demographic group.
