Vine Park Brews Cruise

Just like drinking and driving a car don’t mix, we’ll hear plenty of warnings over the summer that boating and drinking don’t mix either. But what if you want to have a great beer while enjoying some time out on the water? Vine Park is here with the answer!

Come cruise with some of your favorites from Vine Park like Big Stinger Honey Wheat, Tornado Alley Alt, Capital Hill Pilsner, and Rabid Penguin Porter! Enjoy these and a dinner of BBQ Chicken, Penne Pasta salad with grilled vegetables, Caesar Salad, fresh veggie trays, and lots of cookies & bars. And a free VPBC logo pint glass!

Our annual Brews Cruise departs at 5:30pm promptly on Saturday, August 1st from Harriet Island across the Wabasha Bridge from downtown St Paul. It will be 3 hours of fun, food, and beer enjoyed with friends. Both the ones you come with and the ones you meet there.

We are limiting ticket sales to 180 on a first come basis. Tickets are available now only via this link to our online store and at the brewery. Links from the website to be added later, but you get first chance at them!

Price: $65.00 per person if you buy before the Fourth of July.
75.00 per person on tickets sold July 5th on.

Tickets cover your cruise, Vine Park beverages, Pint Glass, and Dinner. All passengers must have a ticket to board. If you wish beverages other then our beers & root beer, the Paddleford Company operates a cash bar on board.

Schell’s Anniversary Series #7 – Roggenbier

OG 14 Plato
IBU 15

Do you love Dunkleweizen? How about rye beers? If the answer is “yes,” you’re going to want to get your hands on Schell’s Anniversary Series #7- Roggenbier.

Roggenbiers are a German specialty beer originally brewed in Regensberg, Bavaria. They were quite popular at one time; these days, however, they are very rare.

Schell Roggenbier is fermented with Schell’s very special Hefe yeast. The flavor profile is reminiscent of cloves, bananas, vanilla, a dash of chocolate, and the spicyness of malted rye.

The release date for Schell Roggenbier is July 5, 2009, commemorating the birthday of Al Marti, President of August Schell Brewing from 1934-1969.

Surly Coaster Winner

The artwork has been drawn, the entries submitted and a winner has been chosen for Surly’s Coaster Contest! Who is it, you ask? That information will be revealed at Old Chicago in Eagan. If you can get there early, take advantage of their happy hour 3:00-7:00 pm for special pricing on beer and apps.

6/9 UPDATE – In addition to announcing the winner of the contest, Surly will also be pouring Bender, Furious and a pin of Ashy Cynic starting at about 7:00. Per Omar, “Let’s see the SE Metro represent!”
