Release of Harvestor Ale from Lift Bridge

The Mad Capper Saloon and Eatery will be hosting a release party for, The Harvestor Fresh Hop Ale from Lift Bridge Brewing, Saturday October 8th, 5-8pm.

On September 16, 100+ people gathered at Lift Bridge for their event, Pickin’ and Grinnin’, picking hop cones from 300 lbs of hop bine.

Brewing: We will be brewing our annual “Harvestor” fresh hop ale at the event and the fresh hops you pick will go right into the beer. This beer will then ferment and age for 3-4 weeks before release, at which time you can raise a glass and proudly proclaim that you did that.

The beer is now ready for consumption and full of hop deliciousness!

Come along as we talk with Charlie Papazian about 30 years of the festival, hit up a few media-only events, visit with some pro brewer buddies, and go wild during the festival sessions.

Wait. Where’s Dawson? We left him in St. Paul for the Even Greater American Beer Festival, the country’s premier one-man beer fest.

Lucid Brewing One Step Closer…

Minnetonka’s Lucid Brewing has announced that they’ve received their Brewers Notice from Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), which puts them one step closer to putting beer in your bellies. In case you’re not actively following their website, they’ve been building out their brewery over the summer and as of last week it looks like they’ve finishing up their boiler installation and expect to complete construction in early October. They’ll still need state and city certificates, but with any luck, they’ll be producing beer this fall.

Here’s a little info on their flagship beers:

Lucid Brewing will launch with two craft beers aimed at a broad range of beer drinkers.  The lighter of the two beers called AIR, will feature a uniquely fruity aroma, reminiscent of mangoes and key-limes, and a moderately light body with a crisp finish.  The second brand called CAMO, is classified as a Double Imperial Pale Ale for its overzealous hop and malt character.   At 9% alcohol this beer is a throwback to Jon’s and Eric’s homebrewing roots where extreme is norm.
