Beer Dabbler Highland Fest

This year marks the third Beer Dabbler event at Highland Fest. And for the record, I’ve only filed in tapping one cask at the event. Will Summit let me tap another? Only time will tell. In short, you’ll have to get Beer Dabbler tickets.

This year the event takes place on July 16th from 1-5pm and will feature more than 65 breweries, 200 beers, live music, food, a jumbotron & beer education. You had me at jumbotron… er beer. Seriously, The Beer Dabbler puts on a good event and I’ve had a good time at every one. Dig it.

Hopped Up Caribou Festival

What comes to mind when you hear “Lutsen?” Skiing, snow, winter. How about a beer festival? Not just a beer festival but a weekend package, if you so choose. And why wouldn’t you just do the whole deal? If you’re going to make the trip to Lutsen you might as well make a weekend of it.

Cost: $25 + fees in advance/$40 at the door for Saturday beer garden only
$129 – $159/person for two nights lodging at Caribou Highlands lodging, admission to the Saturday beer garden, Bloody Mary breakfast Saturday morning, Friday evening hors d’oeuvres/Meet the Brewer

Surly Power of the Pint Party

What: Surly Brewing is hosting the “Power Of The Pint” party on Saturday, June 18 from 2PM to 6PM at its brewery in Brooklyn Center to celebrate the ‘Surly Bill’ passing into Minnesota law last month.

The event is being organized to thank all those who helped Surly Brewing change a Prohibition-era Minnesota law, which previously stopped Minnesota breweries from being able to sell pints of their own beer on their premises.

There will be a variety of Surly beers available at the party. There are no tickets for the event and all those over 21-years old are welcome to attend. Admission is free. The brewery will be open to the public, and Surly Brewing merchandise will be on sale as well.

The party will also include local musical acts Gay Witch Abortion, Pink Mink and Nightosaur as well as various food vendors, including Famous Dave’s, Big River Pizza, Natedogs, and Big Bell Ice Cream.

Where: Surly Brewing Company Brewery, 4811 Dusharme Dr., Brooklyn Center, MN 55429

When: Saturday, June 18, 2PM – 6PM, rain or shine.
