Surly Brewing News

Congrats to Team Surly for taking Silver at the Masters Division at the World Ultimate Championships in Prague last week! But don’t think it was all business and no play, “much Czech Pils was drunk.”

On to what’s happening for the rest of July.

Good day Surly Nation, news from the brewery.

-Hell is being packaged today! Cans will be released next week as will kegs. The release party will happen on Tuesday, July 20th at Sea Salt Eatery, 4825 Minnehaha Avenue South in Minneapolis. Sea Salt is located right by Minnehaha Falls. The Surly Draft Trailer will begin pouring at 11:00 AM. Some Surly folk will be at Sea Salt later in the evening.

Surly Beer Dinner at Be’wiched Deli on July 21st. Beers poured that night will be, cask Bitter Brewer, Cynic, Hell, Abrasive Ale and four. Call 612.767.4330 for details and to make a reservation. See you there.

-Give a Pint and Get a Pint. Surly’s 1st blood drive at the brewery, July 28 Noon – 7 pm. Click here for directions to give blood at the Memorial Blood Center’s Mobile Bloodmobile at Surly.

-On June 10th, Omar won the Ernst & Young 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. I think the whole process was a ruse to get Surly into the nominators liquor store and it worked. The last 5 years has been a pretty amazing experience. To go from no one wanting our beer to where we are at now is nothing short of phenomenal. Head Brewer Todd Haug is the guy most responsible for getting us to this spot and we are lucky to have him brewing here. My wife, Becca and my parents have also been a big reason we have been able to accomplish all that we have. Who would have thought brewing beer would have led to this.

I encourage people to follow us on Facebook or Twitter. We post all the latest beer events, firkin pourings and news on those sites. We have so many firkin tappings and special beer tappings that we can no longer send out email notices for them all.

See you drinking!

Fulton July Update

Greetings!

Is it really mid-July already? It feels like just 11 weeks ago that BP started dumping oil into the Gulf…oh yeah, it was. We’ll leave the heavy stuff to cable news,so here’s a short, sweet update on the world of Fulton.

We just had our biggest month of sales yet, which is exciting, though not that big of an accomplishment, since we’ve only been selling beer for about 8 months. Still, it’s great to see all the support that you’re giving us. Keep drinking it and we’ll keep making it. (And drinking it, too).

It appears that many of you have been enjoying the Lonely Blonde. If you like it–or, even if you don’t–shoot us a note on Facebook or Twitter to let us know what you think. We’re always happy to hear from you. It’s now available at about a dozen bars (which can be found on the Lonely Blonde’s page at www.fultonbeer.com). We’ll be getting it out into even more locations as the summer goes on.

That’s it for this month! We’re throttling back on the events this month a little to focus on a few of our other upcoming projects. We can’t say much about any of them just yet, but you’ll hear it here first. For now, rest assured that we have some majorly cool stuff in the pipeline.

Keep In Touch

Don’t miss critical (what could be more critical than news about beer?) Fulton updates! Keep tabs on us at all of the following:
www.fultonbeer.com
twitter.com/fultonbeer
Become a fan of “Fulton Beer” on Facebook

And of course, tell a friend. Extraordinary beer is meant to be shared.

Cheers,

The Fulton Guys

Flat Earth July Update & New Label

To start off, a few words from Flat Earth on what they’ll be up to for the rest of the month.

Greetings,

A quick hit list of Flat Earth events for the rest of July.

First, help keep me out of “Jail” by making a donation to Jerry’s kids!

Tickets are still available for the Highland Fest Beer Dabbler this Saturday from 1 -5 pm. Go to www.beerdabbler.com for information and tickets.

We are the official beer sponsor on Thursday the 22nd & 29th on the patio at The Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis for live music.

We’ll be in Clayton, WI on the 24th for the Clayton Lions Beer Festival.

We finish off the month here at the brewery with the Build Sustainable Home event.

Remember, growler sales Monday through Friday noon to 6:30 and Saturdays noon to 3:00 pm.

Cheers!

And now for a lookie-loo at their newest label, which only took three tries with the feds to get approval.
