The Minnesota Zoo is presenting their 2nd Annual Brew at the Zoo with live music, appetizers and beer sampling, with proceeds supporting the Zoo’s Conservation Funds. Although it is a Zoo event, leave the kiddies at home as only those with an ID showing they are 21+ will be let in.

I humbly dare any one of these fine MN-based brewers and distributors to bring a cask/firkin of something crazy to Brew at the Zoo 2010. Last year was ultra-fun, and it’s a great venue, but the brew selection wasn’t all that eclectic… this year looks similar (or possibly even less).
I believe Flat Earth brought Bermuda Triangle, at least, last year. That was cool. And Rock Bottom had a few interesting things (I don’t see them on this year’s list at all).
I mean, I’m excited for Friday and happy to have so many local breweries represent there — honestly, I really feel like a jerk complaining about a $45 beer buffet where most of the cash almost definitely goes to supporting the Zoo… huh. Maybe i’ll just stop complaining now.

I take back any grumbling about variety. This is a great event at an awesome venue and a good cause. This community’s gotta stay positive or we’ll turn into another BA.
Constructive criticism is fine, as are reasonable requests for variety I suppose, but sometimes it seems like I/we just look for an excuse to complain. We’ve got it pretty frickin good around here.
