Summit Unchained Series: Kölsch

Here’s the scoop on Summit’s Kölsch that will be hitting shelves in July… Label art and all…

Summit will be releasing a Kölsch this July as part of their new limited run series called the Unchained Series.  The brewery will release 3 different styles a year, with very small runs of each beer.  Each style is helmed by an individual brewer-they get to choose the style and are in charge of overseeing the whole process, from recipe formulation to ordering raw materials.  The packaging will actually feature the brewer’s name and signature.  The Kölsch is being brought to you by Brewer Mike “the Miz” Miziorko.  The focus of the series is to showcase our brewers’ talent and creativity, as well as to brew some styles that may be underrepresented in this market.  The Unchained Series will be available in 6-packs and on draught.

PS-the label says German Style Kölsch because the TTB said it had to be labeled as such!

Dinner on the Farm with Summit

Ok, this one is for you foodies and beeries.

Join us on June 27 as we gather to toast the summer and the delicious local food it brings with it!

The evening begins with a motorcoach ride out to the beautiful, rolling hills of Cedar Summit Dairy Farm in New Prague, Minnesota. You’ll be welcomed by the entire Minar family and a glass of wine from Alexis Bailly Vineyard. After you have a chance to get acquainted with your fellow diners, you’ll be escorted on a walking tour of the farm, where you’ll have a chance to learn firsthand about organic and sustainable farming. A long table in the middle of the green field awaits you at the end of your tour. Your tastebuds will tingle as JD Fratzke, one of the area’s most talented chefs, creates an unforgettable five course dinner, using many ingredients from the farm itself. They will keep you hydrated during the feast with Summit beer and local wine and you’ll have a chance to speak with many of the people who worked so hard to produce it. As dinner is winding down and dessert is being served, a high-energy local bluegrass band will be warming up to entertain you as the sun finally sets over the horizon.

Please visit www.dinneronthefarm.com to reserve your seat at the table. Buy now, tickets are limited!

The $150 ticket price includes transportation to and from the farm from central locations in Minneapolis and St. Paul, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Slow Food, a non-profit organization celebrating good, clean and fair food.

New & Return Brews at Vine Park

Check out the growlers available at Vine Park!

New Career IPA – Our inaugural brew from Bryan, our new assistant brewer, is smooth & hopped up to match his excitement and yet bitter as a laid-off electrician. Feeling this economy? – then you need a New Career IPA!

Walnut Brown Ale is back. Our most popular Brew Your Own recipe in its all grain version. Medium bodied brown ale is an accurate description but really doesn’t covey the great taste. Come try one on!

And if you hurry, we have just five Cap Hill Pilsners in stock.
