As a follow-up to Mag’s post, I’ll add a little more information passed along by Jace Marti… First, expect more posts on the event page than in the past, including photos, etc. Also, Schell’s 150th Anniversary draft series kicks off in two weeks. Schell’s will be producing a new single batch brew every three months from now until their 150th anniversary in 2010. The first beer, 1878 Einbecker Doppelbock, will be released on August Schell’s birthday, February 15th. Other single batches will follow on dates that have historical significance for the brewery as well. Again, these are draft-only and will only be at a limited number of bars. Some of the recipes originate from an old German brewing book that the brewery received after prohibition and others are the brewery’s old recipes, including pre- and post-prohibition. Consumers will also have the chance to vote on their favorite and the winning brew will be brought back as Schell’s 150th Anniversary beer! Pretty cool.
Also, check out the artwork for the new Schell’s Stout. Nicely done!
