Deep gold to amber in color, this Märzen is our Brewer’s take on the traditional Oktoberfest beer. It is medium-bodied with sweet and lightly toasted malt character and a pleasant, dry and slightly fruity finish.
A perfect beer to usher in the autumn season.
And if you can make it there prior to the 6:00 tapping, the first pint is on the house.
It’s Monday and that means you can drink away the sorrow of the new work week with a new beer at Town Hall on the cheap. Just don’t get someone else’s week off to a sour start by being cheap with the tips though.

As fall sets in we decided to listen to your requests for an American Amber Ale, but as you would expect our brewers dropped in the Town Hall flair. We added a bunch of oatmeal to this beer making it crazy smooth and silky. This is really a great cooler weather beer, great for watching football! Release is today at 5pm….that’s right pints of Oatmeal Amber just $2.50 from 5-6.
Just in case you were wondering, we are making Fresh Hop again! The 6th annual batch is in the fermenter and was again made with 175lbs of freshly picked wet hops, this year the variety is Citra. Remember, this beer is made with 100% Freshly Picked wet hops from the West Coast of the US…nothing else, no extracts no suplimental hop pellets. Yep, we overnight them from the field. This year they were picked one day and in our brew kettle by 9:30 am the next morning.

One of the brewers just had a baby son. He wanted to make a beer to celebrate and we will release the beer brewed for Elliott Ryder Bischoff “ERB” this Thursday. That way you can get some to take with on your big holiday weekend. ERB is a Black IPA / Cascadian style beer brewed to be loaded with hops, just a touch of chocolate, and dark in color. A nice beer that proud papa designed to help celebrate the addition to his family. Yep, $2.50 pints from 5-6pm this Thursday, Sept. 2.
Also, I will be around this weekend and had some interest in a brewery tour. I will be offering one at 1pm this coming Saturday if there is anyone left in the city. Please call and make your resevation today and leave your phone number, if numbers are not high enough we will cancel.

Juno and Mark are back at it again (these are the fella’s behind the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest) with the 1st Annual St Cloud Craft Beer Expo at the St Cloud Civic Center. It’ll take place from 4-8pm on January 22nd 2011. Mark says they’re planning to set up a charter service for people in the Twin Cities with a couple different launch spots. More details as they become available!
Oktoberfest beers are already starting to show up and on September 13th Granite City will be releasing theirs during a Mug Club Tapping & Party. Open to all mug club members, there will be brats and kraut to accompany the brew.
