Flat Earth Revival

Flat Earth Revival — an all-day roots music festival and Flat Earth Brewery’s release of Angry Planet Organic American Pale Ale.

When: Saturday, June 30, 2 p.m. to midnight

Where: Acadia Cafe, 1931 Nicollet Avenue S. (corner of Franklin and Nicollet Avenues), Minneapolis 612-825-7529

Cost: $5 all ages admission for the whole day; $1 pints of Angry Planet organic ale with festival admission.

Details/schedule: Free give-aways and schwag from St. Paul’s Flat Earth Brewery, plus seven diverse bands and soloists from the Twin Cities Roots/Americana scene.     I sure hope it isn’t that crap “music” they have playing there a lot of the time. Last time we were there with a beer group they had a performance artist. Imagine the sound of a flock of geese being beaten to death with a NERF bat and multiply that by 10x and you still wouldn’t be close to how horrid this lady’s wales of pain were. When they asked for $5 each to stay and listen the 2 dozen or so of us burst into laughter and one even asked if they meant they’d pay US to stay. Great beer bar, not the best place for music.

    Ben, don’t base your opinion of Acadia’s music on one experience…that’s just wrong. That they do so many types of performance, original, independent musicians it makes them, indeed, one of the best places for music. If they always had exactly what you preferred, all the time….that would be a Not So Great Place for Music.
