Muddy Pig… Minneapolis

TwinCities.com reports today that The Muddy Pig will be expanding into Edina Minneapolis in July with Pig & Fiddle, occupying part of the old Pearson’s Edina Family Restaurant, near 50th and France. It’s a cool old space and will suit the Pig quite well! I, for one, am looking forward to it. Now if only Edina could do something about its ban on happy hours

Old Pearson’s Spot fit for a Muddy Pig; St. Paul restauranteurs expand into Edina, Kathie Jenkins

Thanks for reader Nancy for the tip. According to a City of Edina map, Pearson’s Edina confusingly was not in Edina, but in Minneapolis. Perhaps there’s a little history here or city lines have shifted over the decades? WHo knows?

Castle Danger Launch

Castle Danger Brewery fires up, Mike Creager, Lake Country News Journal

“Life’s definitely busy.”

Owners Jamie and Clint MacFarlane own Castle Haven Cabins. No doubt they’ll be quite busy in upcoming months… running a resort is a lot of work, and from what we hear, running a brewery is no small affair, either. Castle Danger is delivering kegs now and plans to get a license to sell growlers. You can catch them at Gitchee Gumee or places such as Sir Benedict’s in Duluth. We wish them the best of luck!

Stonehenge… er… Stone at Heritage. Yeah.

More Stone-related fun on Wednesday, this time courtesy of Heritage.

Remember when you were 7 years old, and woke up on Christmas morning at 4 AM? You stayed in bed as long as you could, cause you knew your parents would be pissed if you woke them up so early. Finally, you were bursting with excitement and just couldn’t wait any longer, and at 4:09 you ran to your living room only to see your
parents putting together all of “Santas” presents. This is gonna be like that without the unhappy ending. Hopheads will get to re-live that excitement on Wednesday, March 30, only this time it will be at 4 in the afternoon.

The rumors are true…San Diego’s favorite hop merchants are coming to Minnesota, and we’ll have CEO and co-founder Greg Koch in-store pouring samples we’re not worthy of. We’ll have plenty of all their year-round classics like Arrogant Bastard, Sublimely Self-Righteous, Cali-Belgique and many others, plus some special surprises. Greg will be signing bottles and selling DVD’s for a $2 donation that will go to local charity Wishes & More, with Heritage matching dollar-for-dollar.

Event: Stone Brewing Release with Greg Koch at Heritage Liquor, Wednesday March 30, 4PM.
