Friday the 12th we will be at Pracna on Main (117 Main SE Minneapolis) for DFTK Fundraiser!

We are firming up a few more events for December, so check out our calendar later this week for all the Flat Earth Beer Goodness.

Finally kegs and casks of Winter Warlock 2008 left the brewery last week and will be showing up at a local watering hole near you.

Have a wonderful Holiday season!

Reminder: Winterfest Tickets on Sale Monday

winterfest_logo.jpgMark your calendars now. Set an alarm on your cell phone. Cross your fingers. Click your heels together. Whatever it takes. If you want to attend this year’s Winterfest, you’ll have to fire up your computers and be online and ready to order by NOON on Monday, December 15th. This event will sell out and it’ll sell out quickly. Don’t miss out! There are only 700 tickets, so if you don’t get one, Monday, you’re probably outta’ luck. If I were to suggest one craft beer event in Minnesota, this would be the one.

Winterfest takes place on Friday, February 6, 2009 from 7-10pm at Minnesota History Center, 345 W. Kellog Blvd. in St. Paul.

Another MN 1st: Samichlaus on Tap

I stopped in Busters on 28th last night, only to be greeted by a sign proclaiming it St. Nicholas Day, coincidentally the same day that Brewery Castle Eggenberg brews their famous Samichlaus Bier. What does this mean? Well for the first time in Minnesota, this and the Sami Helles are on tap (the Helles hadn’t been tapped as of 10pm last night).  A 12-ounce pour in a sterling silver rimmed Sami tulip is $8, and the bartender said four kegs of the delicious, 14% lager are in town, but he didn’t know who had the other two.

Hold the Date – Arborfest

Sounds like the 2009 date for Arborfest is tentatively set at May 1.  There isn’t any information out there yet regarding confirmation of this, ticket prices, etc., but you may want to hold the date.  Here is a link to the 2008 Arborfest event.  The event is a fund raiser for Family Tree Clinic.  There’s nothing quite like drinking craft beer underneath a condom tree, if you ask me!  Great event…keep your eyes and ears open for ticket info.  We’ll try to stay on top of this.
