McCann’s Autumn Brew Review Lineup

McCann’sHere goes… Chris also has keg-hopped Euro Pils on tap right now at McCann’s. Drink up!

Keg Hopped Deep Seven
I load handfuls of leaf hops in a keg and top it off with our house IPA. Hop heaven!

Flame
A strong amber ale aged on toasted french oak with organic Flame raisins and an artfull blend of exotic sugars. Like nothing you have tried before! Available only here at the Autumn Brew Review (for now).

Ghost Rider Pumpkin Ale
I add pumpkin in the mash of this light amber ale, then steep our secret blend of spices to the brew kettle to remind you of grandma’s favorite pumpkin pie recipe. A perfect ale for harvest time in Minnesota.

Middle Town Braun
Brewed with large amounts of Munich malt, with smaller portions of dark crystal and chocolate malts. Balanced toffee/caramel notes with a light roasted background. A nice session beer we like to drink out of liter mugs at the brew pub.

Euro Pils
Brewed with 100% of the highest quality pilsner malt and Saaz hops from the Czech Republic. This golden lager is aged slowly at just above freezing for a clean, crisp finish. I LOVE saaz hops, so I add fresh Saaz hops to the fermenter during aging, resulting in a wonderful floral aroma and a thirst quenching finish.

Line Them Up & Knock Them Back – Brau Bros.

braubrothers.jpgBrau Brothers Brewing has announced their Autumn Brew Review line-up in their latest newsletter, which I’ve included for your consumption.  I’m excited about the line-up…especially the Fresh Hop.  Yay Beer!  By the way, I did cut a bit out of the newsletter to shorten in up.

Hey Everyone,
Just a quick note to update you on brewery happenings.

We are continuing to harvest hops, about 10-20 lbs every few days. We had really good success with Centennial, Willamette, Cascade, Nugget, and Sterling. We harvested some from each of the other 6 varieties in the hopyard, but only enough to play with. We also successfully tested a malting setup. I’d like to scale it up a bit to make it practical for us in larger volume.

Autumn Brew Review

The media/sponsor row at Autumn Brew Review usually isn’t too lively (barring that keg of Cantilon last year), so we’re attempting to do our part to keep it lively… at least for a half hour or so… If our plans work out, we’re hoping to do a “Name that Minnesota Beer” tasting, with prizes/swag for those who can correctly identify one of several beers. I just put out the request today and have had a few positive responses already, so it will most likely be a go.

Drinkers: Warm up your tastebuds. I’m thinking that we’ll do it at 2pm, so that your ‘buds aren’t burned out yet…

Brewers: I just re-read my e-mail. You’re certainly not required to take part, but people will make fun of you if you don’t.
