Surly Goes to Hell

SurlySo Surly has a new beer hitting the scene, Surly Hell, a Munich Helles. This is certainly old news to anyone that either regularly checks out the Brewer’s Blog over at Surly Brewing, or anyone who was at the Great Taste of the Midwest. Clearly, I’m not one of those.

From the Brewer’s Blog:

Walk with me in Hell
Aug 02, 2008
Ok not really a walk, but a drink of Surly Hell!
Sandy, Beaner and I brewed a single batch of a Munich Helles.
Basically a German style light lager….yea…yea …..Surly Light…get it?
Check it out at the Great Taste in Madison next weekend.
Draft only, so look for this beer at your favorite Surly draft bar in a couple/three weeks.

Year of Beer

I know no one wants to think about winter and Christmas and all that rigmarole when summer is in full force but there are some times, like this one, when it just might benefit you or your craft beer drinking friends or family.

Vine Park is offering a Year of Beer Growler Punch card. For $100 one can purchase 12 growler fills for themselves or someone they love. So when you get around to thinking about gifts, keep this in mind for that special someone or let Santa know you’d be one happy camper if this was waiting for you.

All American With Their First Offering?!

All American Grill and BrewhouseI have not called to confirm this, but it looks like All American Grill and Brewhouse, Waverly, MN, finally has their first Ugly Tree Brewery offering on tap, Ugly Red (is Ugly Light on tap as well???), according to their website.  I’ll call to confirm this and to get an idea for the timing of new offerings in the next day or two.  We first posted about All American over a year ago and their opening was in November.  Early comments about their menu were generally positive.  Of course, now we can really discuss the one thing that matters (besides grilled meat, that is), beer.  I’ve been itching to head out there to visit the place, but ‘za and burgers alone are not enough to motivate me.  If anyone has actually had one of their beers and can confirm the existence, please let me know.  This will kind of be my “photo of Bigfoot stuffed in someone’s chest freezer” moment.
