Brau Brothers Single Batch Series: Ring Neck Braun Ale

The first of Brau Brothers’ Single Batch Series, Ring Neck Braun Ale will be released on October 13th, to celebrate the opener of pheasant season – an important tradition in Southwest Minnesota. Brau Brothers will produce fewer than 1000 cases and will fill around 30 kegs. The idea behind the Single Batch Series is to emulate the Brau’s old days running a brewpub (The Brauhaus) where they were free to brew whatever they liked on any given day. Here is what Dustin calls the “fluffy description”:

Ring Neck Braun Ale is the initial offering in the Brau Single Batch Series of beers. A perfect autumn ale, this big double nut brown ale is dry and fruity, yet surprisingly drinkable. Nutty flavor is derived from both biscuit malt and toasted oats. A hint of raspberry and classic British hops round out this mild and complex brown ale.

News from Vine Park

Got an Email update from Vine Park today. Here’s the beer-related info. More info of course at www.vinepark.com.

A huge thank you goes out to all of you for making this the busiest summer on record at Vine Park!

The custom wine opportunity in July has come and gone but the wines are silently aging all over the area. This was such a hit, we are already planning how to offer more types of wines and to make it easier to get everyone a reserved spot.

And the Belgian recipes in August again drew crowds. This year we offered a series of Belgian Brew Clubs in addition to the custom brewing option and this sold out in record time.

We have a few new things in the works; only some of which are detailed in this email. And to update all of you asking about the growlers; we have been so busy brewing we paused in our efforts until we resolved one issue. Now that we are past that, we intend to work with the City to finish what we started.

Please don’t worry, you will hear from us just as soon as we can offer our first Growlers to you.

WOW! Again, we thank you for your patronage.

When in North Dakota…

I was in the fair city of Fargo, ND last Friday, briefly for a benefit for a friend’s mother. We were at Dempsey’s Public House in their upstairs bar, The Aquarium. While there, I had a pint of Dempsey’s House Ale. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t spectacular, either. Does anyone know who contract brews this for them? I rather doubt that they brew this themselves…

All-American Grill & Brewhouse

A couple of months ago I posted something about seeing a new brewpub going up in Waverly, MN, but was not able to find any other information (probably ’cause I didn’t look too hard). Well, I now have a bit more information about the All-American Grill & Brewhouse. Well, okay, I’ve got a link to a website that is under construction. The site says they’ll be opening sometime in September and that they’ll be featuring beer brewed by Ugly Tree Brewing Company. I’m ugly. I like trees. They may have something here. I’ll continue my hard-core sleuthing and actually send an e-mail out into the ether or whatever we call this webified world of ours and see if I can’t get more information. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, Waverly is about 38 miles west of Mpls according to our good friends at Mapquest.
