The Minnesota Craft Brewer’s Guild was founded in 2000 to promote Minnesota breweries, create an open line of communication between brewers, and be an advocate for more modern beer laws. MNBeer T-Shirts are Niiiiice

MNBeer t-shirts

I just got an order of MNBeer t-shirts in… man, they’re quite nice. I’d always been a bit skeptical about CafePress, but the quality is really good. I have one of the organic cotton t-shirts as well and it’s Downy soft, my friends.

Jeff, Eric, Mag & Kris… needless to say, I have your t-shirts. We’ll have to organize a time for beers and distribution.

Autumn Brew Review Teaser… Fitger’s Line-Up

Have you bought your tickets for Autumn Brew Review yet? What are you waiting for? Perhaps a teaser from Fitger’s Brewhouse would help? Here’s a preliminary listing of what the gang at Fitger’s will be sharing at Autumn Brew Review:

Apricot Wheat 5.1% v  18 b.u.
A marriage of fresh apricot juice and tart, tangy wheat. We make a light wheat ale and infuse the juice. A warm weather or breakfast delight.

Breakwater White 5.4% 22 b.u
A Belgian style unmalted and spiced wheat ale. Light and citrusy due to additions of coriander and sweet orange peel.

Procrastinator Doppelbock  8.5% 33 b.u
A German style strong lager. Malt driven with fruit esters and character derived from long aging.

ST IPA  (Superior Trail)  6.4% 88 b.u
The flagship IPA of the new Burrito Union restaurant in Duluth. A well balanced IPA. Very much a cross between our strong IPA’s and our strong pale ales. Dry hopped, hop backed and highly quafable.

Starfire Pale Ale

The full time pale at the Vrewhouse. Highly hopped very citrusy from the hop varities used. American malts and hops throughout. A true North Shore Style Pale.

St Stephens Abby 8.2% 30 b.u

McCann’s Food and Brewery Update

Things over at McCann’s Food and Brewery in St. Cloud are coming together. In fact, Chris (Laumb, the brewer) has a blog detailing the progress. Notable recent news includes the fact that McCann’s will be brewing all new brews and not recycling any O’Hara’s recipes. As much as I enjoyed some of O’Hara’s beers, I think this helps to establish McCann’s as a totally new place with some great new surprises to come.

The Groveland Tap was packed last night…

Wow… at the last minute, Dawn and I decided to Join Luke and Cassie at Groveland Tap to check out the craziness and have some $1.00 pints of Summit. The normally relaxed Groveland Tap was absolutely packed… almost to the point of being ridiculous… the bar was two people deep and the sidewalk and seating area were barely navigable. Despite the craziness, the Groveland Tap bartenders were slinging pints of Summit like nobody’s business and were likely worn out by the end of the evening. As a bonus, they were pouring Summit’s Oktoberfest last night – the first time I’ve seen it this year.
Did any MNBeer readers make it out to Groveland Tap last night?
