Acadia has added an antique cask bar and tonight they’re having a “Coming Out” party to celebrate. They’ll be tapping three casks:
1) Surly Furious conditioned with cocoa nibs
2) Fulton Sweet Child of Vine conditioned with Nelson Sauvin hops

Surly SŸX Release Party at Aster Cafe Monday
Have you had a chance to try Surly’s latest anniversary beer, SŸX yet? If you haven’t purchased a bottle yet or weren’t at All Pints North for a sample, Monday is your first chance to try this 15% abv wood-aged American Strong Ale. Aster Cafe will host the release part on Monday at 6pm. 8 oz. pours for $7 It’s a sipper. Enjoy!
Twin Cities Beer Fest August 11th
Another new beer festival? Not exactly. This year’s Twin Cities Beer Fest was on the scene last year under the moniker, Minneapolis Beer Fest, but thanks to a venue change, it returns as Twin Cities Beer Fest.This event promises to be a “grand sampling event” with hundreds of beers in unlimited pours. Food trucks? Check. Live music? Check. Games? Yessirree. Competitive eating? Holy shit, yes.
The event takes place on August 11th from 3-7pm in the old Met Stadium parking lot at the Mall of America in Bloomington. Free parking, of course, will be plentiful, but the wiser choice, of course is to hop on the light rail and use that as your sober cab.
Proceeds benefit the Finnegans Community Fund. I didn’t make it out for this one last year, but with any luck, I’ll check it out this year.
Wandering Beer Dinner
Looking for something fun to do the afternoon of August 4th? Well, Northeast Minneapolis has got you covered. 4 bars are teaming up to bring you a beer dinner (lunch?) that will let you check out some of awesome food you can find in Northeast, and you can walk (or bike) between stops! Travel between the 1029, Dusty’s Bar, Grumpy’s Northeast & Elsie’s from 1pm-4pm to grab a pint and a bite at each location. Each stop will run you $10 (gratuity not included, remember to tip your servers and bartenders!) and will include a pint of beer and a food pairing. You can stop in any order, but I will tell you Elsie’s will be featuring the dessert course. Also, if you bring all 4 of your receipts to Elsie’s, you can redeem them for a free game of bowling! The menu is still having the finishing touches put in place, but here are the beers being featured at each bar:
1029 – Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, featuring Smack Shack grub
Dusty’s Bar – Fulton Sweet Child of Vine, featuring Dusty’s Dagos
Grumpy’s Northeast – Fulton Lonely Blonde, featuring a Patio Grill Out
