New Town Hall Glasses

Town Hall has gotten some new logo pint glasses in, ready to be filled for your drinking pleasure.

The 20 oz “bubble glasses” (aka British Imperial Pint) can be yours for $6 (empty) or $9 (filled).

If you’re wondering what you might put in your glass besides their year round beers, Apricot Wheat has departed but as of last night Coconut Milk Stout and IPA were both available on cask. In addition they had a German style pale, going by the name of Tradition Pale Ale.

Sweet! Look at all of these ABR Breweries!

Tasty Waters…er Great Waters

In addition to Tighty Whitey Wit, Great Waters is also serving (pushed) Hauch von Rauch (whisp of smoke) smoked Hefeweizen currently.  I had some yesterday, so can verify that they are safe for consumption.  GW also has teed-up Rye P.A. (pushed) as well as New Centurion on cask.  That means you MBA members need to get drinking so that these can be cracked open.  Incidentally, they’ve also got a cask of dry hopped Chinook St. Peter.  Bob also said he is deviously schemeing on some mad concoction for ABR.  Woot!

Brewhouse Beer Monks at Renaissance Festival Sat. & Sun.

Brother Hoops sent us beautiful message on parchment paper announcing that the Brewhouse Monks would be down at the Renaissance Festival, 20-sided dice in hand*, pouring Fitger’s finest at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival this weekend from 11-5 on Saturday and Sunday. I can’t think of any better reasons to head over to the Renaissance Festival (aside from maybe Byggvir’s Big Beer Cup homebrew contest). Minnesota-made beer? Sounds like a winner to me!

*Slight apologies… perhaps I’m still bitter from being harrassed by women in peasant dresses in the skyway earler this week, but I still like to tease. Don’t get cranky… I’ve had drama-geek (whoops, there I go again) friends since high school and know that some of you secretly still play D & D and Shadowrun. You can make fun of my bicycle geekery if it makes you feel better. 🙂

Barley John’s a Top Bar of 2009

Congrats to Barley John’s for being recognized by Minnesota Monthly magazine as a Top Bar of 2009 in their September issue! The link to the story is only a partial list so you’ll have to pick up a copy of the magazine itself to find the complete list (or wait a few weeks, when I suspect they may publish the full story on line).

If you haven’t made a visit lately, you may be blown away by their hops. I know I was when I had the chance to stop by earlier this week.
