This Saturday, our friends from Hopjack will have fresh (wet) Cascade hops available for your sniffing (and brewing) pleasure from 9am – 2pm. They’ll run $12 for 1/2 pound or $20/lb. Homebrewing has reached the White House! For the first time ever, homebrewing is happening on a regular basis at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Regardless of your politics, if you’re a homebrewer or ever thought about homebrewing – that’s saying a lot about the hobby that 35 years ago was still illegal in our country.
A few days ago (and after much popular demand), the White House released two of its recipes to the public – a Honey Ale and Honey Porter. Now you can brew these White House Ales in your own home using recipe kits exclusively from Northern Brewer.
Bricks Pub in Blaine is hosting a Surly party on their patio on September 11, from 6 -9pm. They will be serving Surlyfest for $5 a pint, and they will have a special Surly barbeque menu for the night. They say that Surly claims that they will also be bringing “something special to tap”.
That’s right, taste the 2012 SurlyFest with Surly’s owner, Omar Ansari, 11 days before they release it at the brewery.
