Do You Need Winterfest Tickets?

Wade wrote to MNBeer and let us know that he has two extra tickets to (beer) paradise. The first taker gets his contact information. Drop me an e-mail at ryan AT mnbeer.com if you’d like to join all of your favorite jerks at Winterfest.

Update: Wade’s tickets have been sold. Fear not, though as there are some others floating around. Check the MNBrewers.com mailing list.

Psst. One of the beers that Schell’s will be bringing to Winterfest is Schmaltz’s Alt.

Winterfest (Post) Two: Electric Boogaloo

Sorry.

Here’s the line-up for Winterfest 2007.

August Schell Brewing Co.
Barley John’s Brew Pub
Brau Brothers Brewing Co.
Finnegan’s
Fitger’s Brewhouse
Flat Earth Brewing Co.
Gluek Brewing Co.

Granite City Food & Brewery
Great Waters Brewing Co.
Herkimer Pub & Brewery
Mantorville Brewing Company
Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery
O’Hara’s Brew Pub
Rock Bottom Brewery
Summit Brewing Co.
Surly Brewing Co.

I’ll beg and plea a bit over the next day or two to see if we can’t the okay to share a sampling of what everyone is planning on bringing on Friday. I’m especially excited about tasting Flat Earth’s beer… I have no doubt that the “new” kid on the block will have some tasty beer to share.

Just a reminder that we’re now accepting donations to the MNBeer “I didn’t drop it in the toilet” camera fund. Just think, for as little as $1 you can help a lowly blogger continue to take the photos that he so desperately needs. Imagine the joy on his face as he submits group photos with brewers and drinkers to local magazines (Minnesota Monthly, Mpls.-St. Paul) for their cheezy “out and about” sections. Fundraiser dinner photos? Walker openings? Pshaw! Beer geeks need love, too. So dig deep, brothers and sisters, praise the beer, and give us five bucks so we can shut up already… link at right. Word.

PedalPub Update

News from the PedalPub guys:

JANUARY 2007

It’s getting exciting! As of Friday, we’ll have our new business phone number – 952-703-9000. Our purchase agreement is being finalized, with a March 1 planned delivery date. We also met with Paul Selcke, proprietor of CycleSeven.com”, who has been running a seven-person conference bike in Minneapolis for about 14 months. Paul was VERY helpful, and we look forward to partnering with him on several events in the future.

And we’ve narrowed our logo down to two choices. A VISUAL question for you this time: DROP US A NOTE and tell us which one you like best! We’ll call them “THE TRIANGLE” and “THE SCROLL”. (see attachments.) Tell us what you like (or dislike) about each one.

Thanks so much for all our leads with people in the city government, police department, and parks department last month! We have contacted many of them, and many of them are excited about the PedalPub, and are helping us on our way. And one of your leads was a channel 9 reporter who wants to do a story on us. Woo hoo!

Our website is still under construction, but at least the one we have up now is a little more graphical. Stop in once in a while to check our progress!

January Boiler Now Available…

Yes, another late post…

The January issue of THE BOILER, the newsletter of the Minnesota Home Brewers Association, is now online at: http://www.mnbrewers.com/newsletters/2007/2007_01.pdf

Take note: Their article on Winterfest mentions that the attending breweries will include Rock Bottom, Herkimer, Fitger’s, Barley John’s, Town Hall, Summit, Brau Brothers, Mantorville, O’Hara’s, Surly, Great Waters and August Schell. We can neither confirm or deny that list (we’re too lazy), but at least a couple of those breweries/brewpubs have been absent from recent Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild fests…
