Goose Island Sophie

It’s not Minnesota, but it’s a saison and quite tasty… I picked up some at The Four Firkins today… Here’s a note from Paul at Capital Beverage…

Goose Island is releasing Sofie, one of their wine barrel aged brews, in the Twin Cities for the first time next week in very limited quantities.  While Goose Island is looking to make it available year-round here it will only be available in limited quantities to start and only in 650mL bottles.  Sofie is a Saison fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels with orange peels.  It is a tart, dry, sparkling ale with a subtle, spicy white pepper note, a hint of citrus from the orange peel and a creamy vanilla finish making Sofie an intriguing brew.  When Goose Island first released Sofie in Chicago it sold out the first day.

The following stores are receiving shipments next week:
Heritage Liquor
Surdyk’s
South Lyndale Liquor
Zipp’s Liquor
France 44
Big Top University
Thomas Liquor
St. Anthony Liquor #1 by Village Pub
Cellars Roseville
1st Grand Liquor

Isn’t MGM Calhoun the location by Burger Jones that closed? Or am I getting my MGM locations confused again.

MGM Calhoun moved across the street…its now right next to Whole Foods. I stopped in the other day and was impressed by their selection.
