How many barrels of beer on the wall?

…and in your bellies?

Twin Cities Business has a rundown of production of breweries and brewpubs in Minnesota. Interesting stuff.

Ok, maybe it was only me but for clarification’s sake, the barrels produced figure is from 2008. Which would probably explain how All American even made the list since they’ve been closed for the last 12 months.

Wow, Fitgers did double the BBL of Town Hall in 08. I knew Fitgers was the biggest brewpub, but not that big!

Interesting that they split off contract brewers on their own. Do Cold Spring’s numbers include not just beer but also all the energy drinks they brew? I can’t imagine they brew that much beer. Wouldn’t much of that also fall under the contract brewing category too?

  4. I knew Fitger’s sold great beer but I had not realized they sold so much! We always stop in at Fitger’s every time we are in town or passing through on our way north. It’s a great place to have lunch and a couple pints.

Fitger’s serving their beer at Red Star and Burrito Union helps their sales I’m sure. And their growler delivery makes it even more accessible (wish someone would do that around here). Making awesome beer really helps too. Suppose Rock Bottom selling their’s at the airport helps their sales a bit too.
