IPA Cask at Barley John’s

Since I couldn’t describe it any better, here’s the details on tonight’s cask at Barley John’s, straight from the horse’s brewer’s mouth.

Tonight’s cask offering is going to be a variation of our Stockyard IPA – I kept 5 gallons of the wort last time I brewed and fermented that very special 5 gallons with champagne yeast. Last time I did that, with the Little Barley Bitter, the result was a somewhat Belgian-charactered version of the original: flowery, a little sweet, with fine bubbles and the slight sulfur character characteristic of a good champagne.

Indeed Brewing – New Brewery & Taproom This Summer

Well this is cool. Add Indeed Brewing to the list of start-up brewery projects for 2012. Three partners, Rachel Anderson, Nathan Berndt and Tom Whisenand plan to launch a 12,000 sq. ft. brewery and taproom in Northeast Minneapolis this summer. Their plans include a 30bbl brewery, taproom and canning line with a focus on hop-forward beers.

…and the person holding the mash paddle? Josh Bischoff from Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery, a great brewer & GABF silver medal winner.

You can read the press release in its entirety below the fold. Cheers to Indeed Brewing!
