TODAY! Fitty’s First Friday: Sierra Nevada

It’s the first Friday of the month, so that means Fitty over at Thomas Liquors will be cracking open some beer for your tasting pleasure at 4pm TODAY! He’s welcoming Brain Bade  Sierra Nevada to the store…lots of great stuff coming from our friends to the west lately, so I’m sure he’ll be opening some of of their regular line-up, seasonals and some of the new brews (Hoptimum anyone?).

And who knows maybe there’ll be something from the cellar (*cough* BFBW vintages *cough*) …

Schell’s Tasting at Heritage

Head over to Heritage today and taste Schell’s Stag Series No. 3, Rauchbier.

It might not feel like it today, but warmer days are close and soon we’ll be cranking up that grill. Nothing goes better with grilled meat and warm days than the smoky flavor of a Rauchbier. This traditional German style smoked brew has a lighter body and color and pairs well with almost anything that comes off your grill. We liked it so much we decided to make it this weeks’ tasting. We’ll also be pouring samples of their current seasonal, Bock, and a few other brews from this local favorite brewery. Our Thursday
tastings run from 5-7PM.

Hump Day Options

It’s hump day and if you need something to look forward to this evening, to make the hours in between now and then a little easier, here are a few options.

Fulton will have a cask of Worthy Adversary at Old Chicago in Eden Prairie at 5:00.

On the other side of town, Great Waters is putting Tighty Whitey Wit, described as “a tart Belgian wit beer with tastes of chamomile, corriander and orange peel” on tap.

Or if you’re looking for a to go option, Vine Park has growlers of Black IPA, Munich Helles and Irish Stout.
