Nordeast = What’s for Breakfast?

The marketing push for Grain Belt’s new Nordeast has been pretty significant.  I’ve seen coverage on many sites, heard Ted Marti on KQRS on Wednesday morning, etc.  My liquor store, The Cellars in Eagan, got their first cases of the beer yesterday afternoon and I picked some up.  I’m generally not much of a imbiber of lagers, but I did enjoy my Nordeast.  Seek it out; it’s worth a try.  It should be available in most liquor stores in the metro area currently.  If folks know what watering holes around town have it on tap, please add a comment.

Anyone seen it in St. Paul? 1st Grand Liquors said they wouldn’t have it for a while.

I live in Nordeast, and all the stores sold out of it on Wednesday by 1PM. I was lucky enough to be able to try some that night. If you like Premo, you’ll like Nordeast.

I was able to pick up a 12 pack of it yesterday in Plymouth, so it’s around town. I would expect that you shouldn’t have to search too much to get a hold of some now.

I know for certain Elsie’s had it on tap on the 7th & I’m pretty sure it’ll be on tap there for a while…think we got a couple kegs of it. I do the beer there, but I’ve been out of town for the past week.

Picked up my 12’er at North Loop last night, and I must say that I like it, and I generally dislike Premium. Very easy to drink.

Marketing or media coverage? Just saying…

    Both.

@ Dave Well, both, I guess. I think you guys have done a good job marketing it and there has been pretty noticeable media coverage (wcco, kqrs, kare11, mpr, etc.). Granted, not all the news has been good, what with some folks taking issue with the name, but I don’t think that detracts from what I perceive as the success. It certainly has folks talking.

Both Grumpy’s NE (THE Premo bar) and Mayslack’s had it on the 7th. They had banners, shirts, etc.

Working my way through a Nordeast hangover right now. I may have liked it a little TOO much. I think it would be a fun tie in to use Nordeast as a marketting and fundraising tool to light up the Grainbelt sign. Maybe used LEDs this time around ?

    Picked up a 12 at Sharrett’s at 280 and University — five cases won’t last long ; )

    Nice, easy drinker.

I like it. Very smooth with a bit of a caramel taste. And indeed, it was practically my breakfast. I got my 12’er at Surdyk’s then lifted two from the Tap across the street at Keernan’s all before noon!!!

I got to Elsie’s around 10pm on the 7th and they were sold out. We called around a few other places and they all sold out by then. The waitress at Elsie’s said they went through 2 kegs. I ended up finding it in bottles at the Northeast Palace around 1 AM. It seems like they were the last place around that had it. I’m sure all the places ave more by now.

Grumpys in Roseville has it on tap and it is the beer of the month there. Outback Steakhouse in Woodbury has it on tap also. Old Chicago in Roseville will have it on tap early next week. Village Inn and the Agave in Hudson have Nordeast on tap as well.

Just a little update on where to find Nordeast on tap around town. Ingredients Cafe in White Bear Lake, Trio bar and grill in Centerville, the Blue Heron in Hugo all have it on tap. I am sure as supply increases there will be many more soon as it is getting very good reviews everywhere.

  19. Joey says:

They have it at Psycho Suzi’s in the bottle.

I’ve still got a bit left at Pracna on Main. Can’t promise how long it will last. Guess we should have ordered another keg.
