Surly Pentagram Release Party Sunday

Surly PentagramJust in time for the first Sunday in Lent, Surly Brewing Co. is launching its newest seasonal beer this weekend, PENTAGRAM!
The beer will be released at Butcher & The Boar this Sunday, February 17 from 5pm – close. To celebrate the launch, Butcher & The Boar will also serve a special Surly Hell beer brat and a smoked Surly Pentagram sausage for $7 each.
The bar will also be pouring Abrasive, Darkness, Mild, Furious, Hell and Coffee Bender.
Bottles of PENTAGRAM will begin being shipped to stores on Monday, February 18.
Pentagram is a 100% Brettanomyces dark beer fermented in stainless and aged in used red wine barrels. Brettanomyces is a unique yeast strain that produces flavors that would be considered offensive if they were not intentional. Flavors of sour cherry, tobacco, oak and classic Brett barnyard funk balanced by Dark Munich malt chewiness. Enjoy immediately or age at cellar temperature for a couple of years.

When Pentagram was announced I thought it was billed at their seventh anniversary beer. Am I not remembering correctly? Will there still be a Surly Seven?

Pentagram was originally a single barrel “taste” of Surly’s fifth anniversary beer. Last year they announced that Pentagram would return as a seasonal. Seven, as far as I know, is still happening.
