Surly Round Up

A few notes from Surly:
– They have launched their new website. Check it out and get the scoop on how it all started.

The new web-site caused some problems. Seems like a good time to do some housekeeping, so we are switching hosting companies. We will let you all know when the site is back on-line.

– The 3rd Annual Surly Photo Contest is on.

Upload a photo and story on out new Travel Log page along with a story. It should be somewhat Surly related. Winner will be announced at the four release on February 23rd. Winner gets some Darkness and junk. Prizes for top 3 entries.

– And finally, sign up for the Friday, February 12th brewery tour should be opening up on line today so if you’re interested, check it periodically during the day as it will fill up fast. SEE ABOVE

  2. Duke says:

Twenty effin five to one, my gamblin days are finally done, I bet on horse called a Bottle of Smoke and my horse won!

  3. Jason B says:

So, what was your favorite new moment?

  4. beerfan says:

It’s completely surly (small s) to not even have a site. Why? Cuz eff you, that’s why.

There’s actually some big news hidden amongst the new content. Looks like we’ll be seeing 16 Grit (now called Abrasive Ale) pop up in cans just a couple months from now. They’ve got a brand new writeup for it, specifically mentioning cans — but, to this point, it’s never been canned:

“Sure we’re abrasive. We were abrasive long before we were Surly. If you visit the brewery you can still see remnants of the industrial manufacturing factory Omar’s parents ran for 35 years within those same 4 walls. Bandsaw blades, grinding wheels, and sanding discs came long before ales and lagers. But let’s be honest, this is a lot more fun. Pale in color, this over-hopped, under-brewed Double IPA has almost twice the amount of hops & malt crammed in the can.”

  6. beerfan says:

The Wet is a far better beer.
