Town Hall in St. Paul?

There’s a lot of “news” out there but this I think actually qualifies as the real deal.

According to the Pioneer Press:

Peter Rifakes says he’s looking for a space in Minnesota’s capital city to open another Town Hall Brewery. Like his restaurant on Washington Avenue near the University of Minnesota, the downtown St. Paul location would feature a large selection of house-made beers and a menu of burgers, fish and chips, pasta and steak.

“I love St. Paul and the vibe downtown,” says Rifakes. “There’s a lot going on between the Wild (hockey) and more people living in the area.”

Didn’t I predict this a year or two ago? 🙂 Or something close?

    Awesome!

If they can recreate the feel of the Minneapolis location, I’ll be there. But if it is overly bright, loud, cold feeling, etc. I’ll have to pass. Town Hall has the right mix of ambiance and beer that makes it a favorite brewpub of mine.

Great news. They are one of my favorites.

Meh, I go to Great Waters (which I prefer, better service, better food, great beer) when I am in St. Paul. Isn’t there a law that they wouldn’t be able to sell growlers at both locations? Example: Herkimer/Moto-i.

I would think that Growler law would go into effect, which would stink. Now if Stubs will open a clone in St paul, I will never have to venture to Minneapolis ever again!

Cool beans, but I wonder if the pint-club hook-ups will change? I like having gotten to know the folks at THB and have made a lot of friends that go there. They’d better find a good bocci spot!

What growler law? Sounds stupid to me.

jf, I don’t know the details but when the owners of Herkimer opened moto-i (Sake brewpub, nice place), they had to stop selling growlers out of Herk in order to sell to-go bottles of sake at moto-i. I believe it is a law that a company can only sell off-sale out of one location.

Any word on where in downtown St Paul? If they put it in a building on Mears Park, that would become quite the destination (with the Bulldog and the Barrio).

OT: Does anyone remember a bar called Otto’s from the 1980’s on the same block as the Bulldog in St Paul?

As a resident there I think they should put it over by the Rossmor – if not in our building
