Double Release at Town Hall

Next week is not just a holiday week, but a holiday week that kicks off with a double beer release from Town Hall.

Monday July 2 is a big release day! 1800 English IPA and Thunderstorm will be released at 5pm.

1800 is a great big English IPA that was formed from a recipe dated the year 1800. Made from the finest British Marris Otter Malt and classic English hops…..and a ton of them. This big guy weighs in at over 8%abv and will be priced a touch higher than normal for pints and growlers. Great American Beer Festival Bronze medal winner 2005

Thunderstorm is our popular summer honey beer that is always brewed in memory of one of our favoite and most energetic customers Chad Bacon, we lost Chad a few years back. This beer was one of his favorites and I regret to say Thunderstorm will never be the same without him, so here is to you buddy. Thunderstorm is made from honey that we get from Bar Bell Bee Ranch in Northern Minnesota. Their honey is great, and it really shows in the beer! We also use lemongrass to add to T-Storm’s citric note. Great American Beer Festival silver medal winner 2004

Due to the upcoming holiday we will offer the holiday growler pack for you! Starting monday 7/2 and running until friday 7/8 If you buy a growler of 1800, T-Storm, and a third of any other growler you will get a $1off of each growler. Growlers of 1800 and T-Storm will be ready for sale 5pm monday.

Monday 7/2 catch a release discount from 5-6pm on 1800 and T-Storm!

Have a great and safe July 4th
Mike

Border Battle Beer Fest July 13th & 14th

Thirsty yet? Given the number of summer beer fests this year, you really don’t have an excuse not to go to one, two or five… Border Battle Beer Fest is a two-day event in Somerset, Wisconsin that promises something for everyone, including whiskey, wings, beer, live music and camping. I’m hoping it’s nothing short of awesome.

The beer fest portion of the event is on Saturday, July 14th from 3-7pm. Over 100 Minnesota & Wisconsin beers are pitted against one another in a knock-down, drag-out beer battle (or something like that) with “celebrity judges” picking the winners. Music follows. Tickets are $30 advanced/$40 at the door.

Whiskey & wings? Why not? On Friday, July 13th from 6-8pm the event will feature a sampling of  20 different single malt, blended and designer whiskeys with wings available for purchase & pairing. $20 advaned/$30 at the door.

If you’d like to make a weekend of it, camping is available for the weekend in several different packages. You’ll be on the Apple River, so tubing might be a nice daytime option as well.

Visit the Boarder Battle website for tickets and complete information.

Monticello Lions Brewfest, August 18th

Here’s another new brewfest,  thirsty beer fans. The Monticello Lions are putting on their first fest on August 18th at Westbridge park in Monticello. Advanced tickets are $25, and day-of tickets available for $35. Breweries represented at the fest will include Purity, Schell’s, Bell’s, Boulevard, Cold Spring, Finnegans, House of Shandy, Fullers, Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr, Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams and others. Terri Traen from KQRS will be appearing at the event and music will be provided by Blue Hazard Band. Food vendors include Von Hanson’s Meat Markets, The Station, River City Extreme, Primo Pizza, Cornerstone Catering & Buffalo Wild Wings.
