Win MN Craft Beer Week Shirts & Passports!

Minnesota Craft Beer Week is May 13th – 21st. No doubt you’re already familiar with all of the great happenings, prizes and more. Hell, there’s even a homebrew competition! Be sure to check it all out.

Wanna’ win an event passport and Minnesota Craft Beer Week t-shirt? We’ve teamed up with the organizers to give away a few! In the comments, we want the story of your “craft beer epiphany.” What opened your eyes to the world of craft beer? Was it Summit Altbier back in the day? Or were you a more recent convert? Either way, we want to hear your story. Try to limit it to a couple of paragraphs. The best entries will win a shirt & passport. Be sure to share your story – we’ve got several to give away!

Be sure to include your email address with your post so we can contact you. It won’t be published, but we’ll have it on the backend of the site so we can get ahold of winners.

Cheers. Get writing!

CONTEST CLOSED. WINNERS HAVE BEEN EMAILED!

Blessing of the Maibock at Town Hall

With Spring comes Mother’s Day, fishing opener and of course, Maibock!

Morning,

We are coming up on the first Saturday in May which means one thing…….Maibock! For those of you unfamiliar- Maibock is a German Lager that is generally released in spring. It is the Blond Bock, expect a nice medium to heavy body with a crisp finish. We used only the finest German malts to create this lager beer and it is well aged. This beer is nearly 3 months in process!

Each year we feature a Blessing of the Maibock celebration. Call it what you will…I like to think we are celebrating that we made it through another winter and that we made it to summer.

Here are the stats-

This coming Saturday 5/7 Maibock will be released at 5pm. We will fill your glass beginning at 5pm and hope to have everyone filled by 5:15. At 5:15 Father Aaron will perform the official Blessing and then we will continue to fill your glasses until 6pm. 5-6pm is complimentary Maibock because we love you guys. Please do not consume your first glass until the official toast at the conclusion of the Blessing.

This is always a very fun celebration, see you Saturday.

****Pint club**** There will be no pint club reception on 5/7 (no free beer from 4-5).

Prosit!

(Back to that whole Mother’s Day thing, make sure you at least pick up a card for her.)

Alaskan Launch Week in Minnesota

Dumping these all into the calendar would be an exercise in futility (though we might do it if we don’t sit and enjoy these Alaskan samples, instead), but here’s the list of events that the Original Gravity folks have planned. Here’s what we have thus far… things may change:

Launch Week Events mapped out

Brewing TV #35: High Voltage 1800

Join homebrewer Kent “Sixpack” Olsen and his buddies as they brew their own version of Town Hall’s 1800 English IPA. Kent decided to name his concoction Dirty Deeds English IPA.” What can we say? The dude loves his AC/DC! (As you’ll see here.) Grab a pint, throw something on the grill, and join Sixpack for an outdoor brew day. Video courtesy our homies over at Brewing TV.
